Stop Payment of Cheque

You can put in a request to stop payment on a cheque you have issued through NetBanking, PhoneBanking or by visiting a HDFC Bank branch.

NetBanking

Here’s how you can use NetBanking to put a stop payment on a cheque

 

Step1

 

Login to NetBanking using your NetBanking ID and Password

 

Step2

 

Click on Stop Payment of Cheque option under Request menu on left hand side of page

 

Step3

 

Select account number if there is more than one

 

Step4

 

If you want to stop payment on a series of cheques, then enter cheque number of the first in the series and then the last cheque number. Give a reason for stopping the payment. For stop payment request on a single cheque, enter the cheque number in both the fields provided

 

Step5

 

Click on Continue

 

Step6

 

On the next web page, verify and click on Confirm tab to complete request

Validate your Telephone Identification Number (TIN). This is a 4-digit number that is provided by HDFC Bank for accessing PhoneBanking Service
