Important information on Overdraft facilities against Non-withdrawable Fixed Deposit

Warm greetings from HDFC Bank. 

We want to inform you that effective December 2, 2023, HDFC Bank has discontinued offering overdraft facilities against non-withdrawable Fixed Deposits. However, overdrafts already availed against such deposits will continue till their closure or the maturity of non-withdrawable Fixed Deposits, whichever is earlier.   

In case you want to continue the existing overdraft facility even after the maturity of non-withdrawable deposits, the same may be sanctioned against any other withdrawable fixed deposits. Alternatively, you can convert your non-withdrawable deposits on their maturity to withdrawable deposits via requisite instruction. In the absence of any specific instructions from the Customer before the maturity date, the Bank may renew your Deposit as a withdrawable deposit at prevailing rates for the same tenor. 

Please ensure that you submit your preferred instructions to your nearest HDFC Bank branch before the maturity date. 

Here are some key points to consider:

• The Overdraft facility will no longer be available for new applications or limit enhancements on non-withdrawable Fixed Deposits.
• Premature liquidation of a non-withdrawable deposit to settle the overdraft facility will not be possible.
