- How to Check Water Bill Online
How to Check Water Bill Online?
03 January, 2024
There was a time when paying bills was such a struggle. You either had to waste half your Saturday or take a shorter lunch break to visit your nearest utility bill payment centre to deposit the cheque/cash. All these struggles seem so ancient now, thanks to online banking and payment modes like internet and mobile banking and UPI Payments. Today, you can view and check all kinds of bills online within seconds. Let’s find out how you can view and check water bill online. One of the easiest ways to do so is through HDFC Bank's PayZapp Online Payment App - a quick and easy online payments solution.
Pay your Water Bill Instantly with PayZapp
Paying your water bill online offers several benefits, including convenience, speed and accuracy. By paying online, you can avoid late fees and penalties. With PayZapp, you can pay your water bill in just a few taps using your internet-enabled smartphone. What’s more, you can set up your water utility service provider as your biller when you pay your bill the first time and initiate one-click payments for all subsequent bills.
How To Check Water Bill Online With PayZapp?
If you do not want the regular hassle of logging in on your water biller’s website or entering your consumer number each time you want to check your water bill status or make a payment, you can use HDFC Bank’s digital payment platform-cum-mobile app, PayZapp. Here are the steps to check and pay your water bills:
Step 1: Go to ‘Bills and Recharges’
Log in on the PayZapp application and go to ‘Bills and Recharges’ section. Click on ‘View More’ to see the various types of utility billers affiliated to PayZapp for instant online payments.
Step 2: Click on ‘Water’
On the PayZapp app, you will see various icons representing different utility billers. Click on the ‘water droplet’ icon, which represents water billers. You will now be able to see a list of municipal corporations listed on PayZapp in the drop down menu.
Step 3: Select your Water Bill Provider
You can scroll through the drop down menu to select the water biller specific to your city/town. Alternatively, you can type your municipal corporation’s name in the search bar and the app will pop it up, allowing you to select it without having to scroll through the extensive list of billers.
Step 4: Enter your Consumer ID
Once you have chosen your water service provider, you need to enter your billing details such as your customer number, consumer ID, account number, etc. You can find these details on any of your previous water bills and enter it on PayZapp to run a quick water bill check.
Step 5: View and Pay Water Bill
You will now be able to see your water bill and the due amount. You can pay the bill via PayZapp in several different ways. For instance, you can link your HDFC Bank Account or Debit Card to PayZapp or load the PayZapp digital wallet to pay your water bill. If you don’t have an HDFC Bank Account but hold an HDFC Bank Credit Card, you can link that to your PayZapp account and pay the water bill.
How to Check Water Bill Online on the Biller’s Portal?
Besides PayZapp, you can view water bill status on the website of your city or town’s municipal corporation. Here, you can check your water bill status, bill generation date, due date, bill amount, security deposit required (if any) and other vital details pertaining to your water bills. The standard steps to view your water bill status on a municipal corporation website are as follows.
Open a web browser on your internet-enabled device and go to the official website of your municipal corporation responsible for your city’s water supply. You can usually find this website by searching for the name of your city or town followed by its ‘municipal corporation’.
Once you have accessed the website, locate the section related to utilities or services.
Within the utilities or services section, you will find an option for water billing or water services. Click on it to proceed.
On the water billing page, you will need to enter your consumer number and a captcha code. You can find this data on any previous water bill you may have. Alternatively, you can register yourself on the water biller’s website by creating your login ID.
You will see a menu or a dashboard comprising the details of your latest water bill.
