Also comprehensive bike insurance policy comes along with the benefits provided by third party two wheeler insurance in addition to coverages for theft, fire, natural calamity and other unforeseen events.

6. What is Zero depreciation cover or bumper to bumper coverage?

Zero depreciation is an add-on cover and has to be purchased by paying additional premium. It offers complete coverage to your two wheeler without factoring into depreciation. For instance, if your vehicle is badly damaged, then you don’t need to pay for any depreciation charge and will be eligible for full claim amount subject to terms and conditions of the policy. Applicable for 1 year policy.

7. How does emergency assistance programme work?

11. What do you mean by Constructive Total Loss?

The Insured Declared Value (IDV) is the maximum amount of sum assured fixed by the insurance company, according to the present market value of the vehicle. Sometimes, the overall repair cost exceeds 75% of the vehicle’s IDV,and then, the insured bike is treated as a Constructive Total Loss claim.

13. Can I choose not to claim if the damage is minimal? What do I gain out of it?

When a policyholder doesn’t make any claims during the policy period, he/she is rewarded with a No Claim Bonus (NCB). Now, this discount can range from 15% to 50%, depending upon your track record of not making a claim. While making a claim for massive damages serves the whole purpose of taking insurance, if you let go of small damages, you can avail a decent discount in the form of NCB. So, it’s advisable to pay for minor repairs instead of making a claim and losing that NCB, which by the way, only increases with every passing year.
