Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, March 17, 2025: The Honourable Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Yogi Adityanath, inaugurated HDFC Bank’s state-of-the-art branch at Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. This is a notable pilgrimage site and one of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines. This is the Bank’s 31st branch in Varanasi district.

The branch is expected to benefit the large number of pilgrims who visit the temple every day.

Commenting on the development Mr. Muskaan Singh, Branch Banking Head – Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, HDFC Bank said, “HDFC Bank has always believed in keeping customer convenience as the cornerstone. The temple attracts numerous visitors across the globe due to its strong spiritual significance. Other dignitaries present at the inauguration were Mr. Muskaan Singh, Branch Banking Head, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, HDFC Bank, Mr Anil Rajbhar – Cabinet Minister, UP, Mr Dayashankar Mishra – MOS, UP Govt, Mr Ravindra Jaiswal – MOS, UP Govt, Shri Mahant Santosh Das - Satua Baba Ashram, Mr. Neelkanth Tiwari – MLA.

In addition, Mr. Kaushal Raj Sharma IAS - Commissioner Varanasi, Mr. S Rajalingam IAS - DM Varanasi, Mr. Vishwabhushan Mishra - CEO Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, Mr. Shambhu Sharan - SDM Shri Kashi Vishwanath Special Area Development Board, Mr Mohit Aggarwal IPS - Police Commissioner, Dr. S Channapa IPS - JCP Varanasi, key authorities of administration, Shri Kashi Vishwanath Mandir and Shri Kashi Vishwanath Special Area Development Board along with other senior officials of the Bank including Mr Anil Khugshal - RRH, Mr Manish Tandon - ZH, Mr Rohit Khanna- CH were also present on the occasion.

Uttar Pradesh has been a key contributor in the Bank’s journey in Uttar Pradesh which began in 1997 with the opening of its first branch in Lucknow. Subsequently, the Bank opened its first branch in Varanasi in the year 2003. With this new branch, the Bank’s network has reached to 31 branches in the district.

As of December 31, 2024, the Bank’s distribution network in Uttar Pradesh comprised of 913 branches and 1473 ATMs (including CDMs) across 80 cities / towns.
