Karnataka Health Minister inaugurates oxygen plant at KC General Hospital set up by HDFC Bank Parivartan

Bengaluru, 22 February, 2022: Dr K Sudhakar, Minister for Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education, today inaugurated a medical oxygen plant setup by HDFC Bank at KC General Hospital, Malleshwaram. The plant would strengthen the city’s healthcare infrastructure to prepare against a COVID-19 wave.

The Bank, through its flagship CSR programme Parivartan, has set up several such PSA plants in hospitals across the state and country. The bank installed this PSA plant to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in the city.

“HDFC Bank is with the nation in fighting covid and supporting frontline workers,” said Mr Ahmed Zackaria, Branch Banking Head Karnataka - HDFC Bank. “The Bank is conscious about the hardships people are going through during this pandemic. We have extended every possible help under our flagship CSR programme Parivartan. Apart from providing scholarships to students impacted by COVID, and training youth, farmers and women in different vocations, the Bank is proud to strengthen the state’s preparedness for a possible third wave.”

Mr Ganesh Devarajan, Zonal Head of Karnataka – HDFC Bank, was also present on the occasion. KC General Hospital is a designated COVID-19 treatment centre right from the start of the pandemic. The oxygen plant will make the hospital self-sufficient and eliminate dependence on cryogenic tankers to transport oxygen from far off places.
