Registration Steps

HDFC Bank Mobile Banking App:


  • User can Select UPI Enable services while registering for HDFC Bank's Mobilebanking App and get their UPI profile created with NPCI authorized international Mobile Number. 
  • OR 
  • Login into the HDFC Bank Mobile Banking App with your Customer ID & Password or Quick Access Pin or Biometric Authentication 
  • Click on Menu button on the left-hand top of the Mobile Banking App 
  • Click on Setup UPI 

Please Note: 

  • UPI registration will only happen on Mobile Data. (not on Wi-Fi - for iOS Device). 
  • User should have active SMS pack with international Mobile Number 
  • List of countries supported for UPI with international Mobile Number -

    For HDFC Bank Customers


    • Choose language
    • Welcome onboard : Accept Terms & Conditions & Security Policy
    • Select SIM for device binding
    • Auto device binding is initiated. SMS is sent from device for verification (standard SMS charges will be applicable)
    • Post successful device verification, select onboarding type – Bank Account or  Credit card. Select bank account.
    • Select HDFC Bank NRE or NRO account number to be linked to UPI ID.
    • Generate 4 digit UPI PIN using debit card details. UPI registration is now complete.
    • From home screen of BHIM App, start transacting on UPI seamlessly.
    • If you are having an international mobile number then you can use and perform UPI transactions seamlessly. Presently this feature is enabled for below 12 countries :
      1) Singapore
      2) Australia
      3) Canada
      4) Hong Kong
      5) Oman
      6) Qatar
      7) USA
      8) Saudi Arabia
      9) United Arab Emirates
      10) United Kingdom
      11) France
      12) Malaysia


    Pay Money using BHIM app


    • In "Pay Now" section click on "Send to Mobile/UPI" 
    • Enter UPI ID of the payee manually or select from phone contacts
    • You can select to pay via
      - UPI ID of beneficiary
      - Account no. & IFSC
    • Add amount
    • Select your HDFC Bank NRE/NRO account as "Debit account"
    • Enter "Remarks"
    • Enter 4 digit UPI PIN and Pay


    Request Money using BHIM app


    • Click on "Request Money"
    • Enter UPI ID of the payer manually or select from phone contacts
    • Enter the amount and Remarks
    • Set the Expiry Duration and Initiate request
