What
transactions can I perform using my ATM / Debit Card?
You can perform the following transactions at our ATMs across the country:
- Cash Withdrawals
- View Account Balance
- Request a mini-statement
- Request for a Mini-Statement
- Change your ATM PIN
- Request for a Cheque Book
- Request for an Account Statement (for the period from the date of the
'Last Statement' to the date on which request has been made.)
- Funds Transfer within accounts linked to the same card
- Pay your HDFC Bank Credit Card Bills
- Refill your Prepaid Mobile
- Deposit* Cheque or Cash
- Request for your NetBanking Password
* - Available at select HDFC Bank ATMs.

What does "Valid up to 01/10" on my card mean?
The first two numbers indicates the month and the next two indicate the year till which your card is valid. Here it implies that the ATM / Debit Card is valid up to January 2010.

How can I use the "Funds Transfer" option at the ATM?
In order to use the Funds Transfer option, you must have more than one Savings (single, either or survivor) or sole proprietorship Current Account linked to the same ATM / Debit Card. Visit your nearest branch and place a request for linking the accounts to the ATM / Debit cards. Make a note that 16 A/cs can be linked to a single card. |

Which cards can be used at HDFC Bank ATMs?
You can use the following cards at our ATMs:
- Cirrus
MasterCard Credit Cards - Domestic/International
Cirrus ATM Cards - Domestic/International
Maestro Debit Cards - Domestic/International
- Plus
VISA Credit Cards - Domestic/International
Plus ATM Cards - Domestic/International
VISA Electron Debit Cards - Domestic/International
All cards, which can be used at our ATMs, will need to have a Personal Identification Number (ATM PIN) for ATM access, which is issued by the Issuing Bank.
Issuing Bank of the card defines the limits for cash withdrawals, number of PIN login attempts, and declines.

Can I use my HDFC Bank ATM/Debit Card on other Bank ATMs?
Yes, you can transact on other Bank ATMs with your HDFC Bank ATM/Debit card. |

Are there any charges if I use other Bank ATM?

What
is the cash withdrawal /cash advance limit for me?
HDFC Bank customers currently can withdraw up to Rs.15, 000/- per day using
ATM Card and Rs. 25,000 using their Easyshop International Debit Card. EasyShop
Gold Debit Card and Business Debit Card holders can currently withdraw upto
Rs 50,000/- per day. To know more click

How
do I use my ATM?
To use the HDFC Bank ATM, just follow these easy steps:
- Insert / Dip your card into the slot provided.
- Select the language in which you want to be led through the transactions. (English / Hindi)
- At the prompt, enter your ATM PIN.
- Select the transaction you wish to conduct (eg: Cash Withdrawal/ Balance Inquiry etc).
- Select the account type. If you are using a Credit Card, select the "Credit" option.
- If you are making a withdrawal, enter the amount you wish to receive.
- Confirm that the amount is correct.
- Collect your cash, card and receipt.

What is my liability incase my ATM /Debit card is lost/stolen
For doing an ATM transaction, two things are required; an ATM/Debit Card and a PIN, which is known only to the customer.
In case your ATM /Debit card is lost/stolen, any transactions taking place using the card on an ATM is the result of you compromising your PIN which should have been known only to you and no other person. Thus in such a scenario you are liable for the loss incurred due to the transaction happening on the ATM.
However, there is 'Zero Liability' applicable for Debit cards only on fraudulent
Point of Sale Transactions and not ATM transactions. To know more click

Whom am I supposed to contact in case my
card is lost / stolen?
In case your card is lost / stolen, as first step you need to block your card in order to avoid any fraudulent transaction happening from your account.
For blocking your card you need to either

Call up your local HDFC Bank PhoneBanking
Number
Or
- Log onto HDFC Bank NetBanking and block the card using the option of
'Hotlisting' under 'Debit Cards'

- Visit your nearest HDFC Bank Branch.

What should I do incase my ATM card gets
stuck inside the HDFC Bank ATM?
You are requested to either
- Log a complain with the local HDFC Bank PhoneBanking
Number
Or
- Visit your nearest HDFC Bank Branch. You can request for your card to
be delivered either at the mailing address which you have given to the
Bank or at the nearest branch where you will have to collect the same
in person.

What should I do incase my ATM card gets
stuck inside any other Bank ATM?

I have forgotten my ATM PIN, how can I retrieve
it?
You can place the request for regeneration of ATM PIN either
Basis on your request the ATM PIN will be either dispatched to your recorded mailing address or to the nearest branch from where you can collect the same in person.

Is there any charge that I will incur for
regenerating my ATM Pin?
You will be charged Rs.25/-(exclusive of taxes) towards regeneration of the
ATM PIN.

What should I do incase I have used my HDFC
Bank Card at HDFC Bank ATM or Other Bank ATM and have not received the amount
which I have tried to withdraw / or have received lesser amount?
You are requested to log a complain either
- With the local HDFC Bank PhoneBanking Number who will guide you on the next steps

- Visit the nearest HDFC Bank branch.

How fast will I receive the funds in my account in case money is not dispensed from the other Bank ATM that I have used?
a) In case of Short / Zero Cash dispensed at other Bank ATMs, HDFC Bank customers will be credited with the disputed amount within a period of 7 working days from the date of the complaint, for complaints decided in favour of the customer.
b)The Bank will pay Rs.100/- per day for complaints decided in favour of the customer beyond 7 working days only if the complaint is lodged within 30 days of the date of the transaction.
