All HDFC Bank Savings and Current Account holders can access their accounts through NetBanking.

No. Currently, we offer NetBanking free with all accounts. However, all minimum balance/deposit amount requirements of the relevant accounts will need to be honoured.

| Where can I open a new Fixed Deposit? |
You can open a Fixed Deposit in any of our branches throughout the country.
| What do you mean when you say that the transactions are "real time online"? |
We have designed the NetBanking service in such a way that it takes
your requests and acts on them immediately. All transactions that
will affect your balance (except Demand Draft request) are done
automatically by the system.
For example - Funds Transfer, Stop Payment instructions, Fixed Deposit
requests and the likes.
All the balances that are displayed to you are as of that instant
and would cover transactions done by you over any of our channels.
| When will my transactions affect my Account? |
Immediately! Except in the case of Demand Draft request, which will be processed during the banking hours on the next working day.
| How will I know that my transaction has been completed? |
The NetBanking system does one of the following, depending upon the transaction you have requested:

You can be assured of complete privacy when you use HDFC Bank's
NetBanking facility. We have built several checks to safeguard your
NetBanking transactions. Before you gain access to your account,
you will be asked to enter your unique Customer ID and IPIN (password)
to verify your identity. To maximise the security and confidentiality
of your transactions, your password is not accessible to anyone,
not even Bank employees.
When you bank with us on the Internet, you are always in a secure
zone. To ensure the security of your transactions, we use a technology
called Secured Socket Layer (SSL), which involves scrambling of
the information between you and the Bank. If an unauthorised user
tries to access your Account by keying in various combinations while
trying to guess your password, your account will automatically get
locked. Moreover, when you log in to NetBanking, your last date
and time of log in will be displayed so that you can make sure that
nobody has accessed your account.
In addition to these online security features, we have in place
a dedicated team to monitor the access to the web server and to
prevent unauthorised access.
These features work together to maximise security of your banking
transactions. However, in order to ensure complete security, please
remember to log out of NetBanking after you have completed your

| I cannot read some digits of the password. What should I do? |
The IPIN (password) is a number randomly generated by the system, and the only person having access to it is you. We would therefore request you to apply for regeneration of the password.
| What is the process for regeneration of IPIN (password)? |
In case you have forgotten your password you can re- generate the
same online.

For obvious security reasons we do not print the Customer ID or Account number on the password mailer sent to you. The only solution, therefore, is to try the two combinations of the Customer IDs and passwords that you have.
| Why is my NetBanking IPIN (password) not functioning? |
There could be various reasons for the IPIN (password) not functioning. Few among them are:

You need a new IPIN (password) to log in, in case you have forgotten

The maximum amount of funds that can be transferred per cust id per day is Rs. 10 lacs.

Effective 16th January, 2010, RTGS transactions on NetBanking would be charged at Rs. 25 (inclusive of taxes) per transaction.

| I want to register for Third Party Transfer. (NRE/NRO Account)? |
To transfer funds from your account to another HDFC Bank account or an
account with another Bank, you need to register for “Third Party Transfer”
(TPT) facility.
Please follow the instructions below to register for TPT facility
Step 1) Fill up the TPT
application form available at the Branch (duly signed
by the account holder/s).
Step 2) Submit / send it to the HDFC Bank Branch where your account is held.
Step 3) All TPT requests submitted at the branch need to be accompanied with the original Photo ID proof and a self attested copy of the same.
NRI Customers unable to visit the branch, can submit the TPT registration form along with self attested Photo ID Proof.
