Terms and Conditions of the Offer:  


A. Eligibility: 


The Eligibility Criteria of the Offer is as under: 

The HDFC Bank Limited, a company incorporated in pursuance of Companies Act, 1956 and having its registered office situated at HDFC Bank House, Senapati Bapat Marg, Lower Parel, Mumbai - 400134 (“HDFC Bank/Bank/We/Us”) is rolling out the offer for making merchant payments using HDFC Bank Digital Rupee App (“Offer”) to the eligible participants who are having Current/Saving account held with the HDFC Bank (“Customer(s)”) and who shall use the Bank’s CBDC App to make payment to the Merchant via Central Bank Digital Currency for the eligible amount as mentioned in Para B as below.  


B. Offer Construct: 


a. Bank shall pay to the Customer Rs. 2/- (Rupees Two only) as cashback on all peer to merchant (P2M) transactions equal to or above Rs.20/- (Rupees Twenty only) per transaction. 

b. Customer can only avail cashback of INR 100, per mobile number, in a month.  

c. The Customer shall not be eligible for any cashback on any Peer to Peer (P2P transactions) or Peer to Merchant (P2M transactions) below Rs.20/- (Rupees twenty only)  

d. This offer shall be valid from 07/11/23 to 07/12/2023 (12:01 AM of 7th November 2023 until 11:59 PM of 7th December 2023). Time as per India Standard Time (IST).  

e. Cashback amount shall be credited to the account of the eligible customer held with the Bank after 10 days of closure of the Offer. 

f. Monies would be credited to eligible customers bank account who are making P2M Transactions of INR 20 and/or above.   



Examples of Customer’s entitlement of the Cashback: 


Scenarios to consider for offer: 

If a customer does a transaction at any merchant amounting to Rs.20 

  • He is eligible for Rs. 2 as cashback  

If a customer does a transaction at any merchant amounting to Rs.50 

  • He is eligible for Rs. 2 as cashback  

If a customer does a transaction at any merchant amounting to Rs.19 or less  

  • He is not eligible for Rs. 2 as cashback  

If a customer does a transaction paying to his friend/ family (P2P)  

  • He is not eligible for Rs. 2 as cashback  



C. Offer Terms & Conditions 


i) “Applicable Law”- shall mean any statute, regulation, notification, circular, order, ordinance, requirement, direction, guideline, announcement or other binding action or requirement of any Governmental Authority, having the force of law in India (or any part thereof); 


ii) General Terms & Conditions.  


a) The Offer is for the Customers of the Bank as per eligibility criterial defined in para A above and participation in this Offer is purely on voluntary basis.  

b) There is no separate entry fee for participation in this Offer for the Customer(s) 

c) Communications to the Customers of their entitlement of the Cashback shall be done via email or SMS or WhatsApp wherever applicable. 

d) Any delays in processing the payout to the Customers within the stipulated timeline will be communicated via email or SMS or WhatsApp on a best effort basis to the Customers prior to the deadline(s). 

e) Any Turn Around Time committed with respect to declaring the result or fulfillment of the offer to the winners is only indicative & may vary from the actual date; the Bank shall not be liable for any such delay. However, the Bank shall review the Customer’s query & if eligible, shall ensure fulfillment is completed at the earliest. 

f) The gift tax, any additional tax, any government charges associated towards the reward to eligible Customers of this Offer will need to be borne by the Customer only. HDFC Bank or any other party cannot be liable towards the gift tax /charges rising towards the same. 

g) The Customer(s) agrees to Indemnify HDFC Bank for or in respect of any loss, liability, cost or expenses incurred by HDFC Bank on account of breach of any of the above terms and conditions on part of Customers(s) or breach of Applicable Laws on part of the Customer(s) or any third party liability incurred by HDFC Bank which is attributable to the acts, deeds or things on part of the Customer(s) or any losses , costs or expenses incurred by the bank on account of any fraud or misrepresentation done by the Customer or the Customer gaming the system or the Offer.  

h) All queries with regards to Offer will be valid/open for escalation only up to 90 days from the end of the Offer fulfillment date – post which the Bank will not entertain any queries. 

i) All queries with regards to participation in the Offer will be valid/open for escalation only up to 90 days from the start of the Offer period – post which the Bank will not entertain any queries of such nature. 

j) refund / cancelled / chargeback transactions will be excluded while arriving at Offer benefit.  

k) reversed /cancelled transactions, disputed or unauthorized/fraudulent transactions will not be considered for Offer eligibility. 

l) HDFC Bank reserves the right to disqualify/ exclude any Customer from the Offer if any fraudulent activity is identified as being carried out for the purpose of availing the benefits under the Offer. 

m) The HDFC Bank reserves the right to provide entry to the eligible Customer to participate in the Offer and the Bank shall at its sole discretion shall be entitled to disqualify any Customer in participating in the Offer.  

n) In all matters relating to the Offer, the decision of HDFC Bank shall be final and binding in all respects on the Customer. 

o) HDFC Bank reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever to the Customer, to add/alter/modify/change or vary all of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or in part, this Offer by another offer, whether similar to this Offer or not, or to extend or withdraw the Offer altogether. 

p) HDFC Bank shall be entitled to revoke the Offer without any prior notice or intimation to the Customer(s). In such case the eligibility or the entitlement shall be appropriately adjusted at the sole discretion of HDFC Bank. 

q) HDFC Bank shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever if transaction fails due to technical issue. 

r) Offer shall be subject to all Applicable Laws and the rules and regulations which are in existence and which may be promulgated anytime by any statutory authority.

iii) Governing Law and Jurisdiction: 


All disputes, if any, arising out of or in connection with or as a result of above Offer or otherwise relating hereto shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts / tribunals in Mumbai, irrespective of whether courts / tribunals in other areas have concurrent or similar jurisdiction.
