  • Protection against Foreign Exchange fluctuation
    Multicurrency ForexPlus card is availabe in 18 currencies, providing protection against exchange rate fluctuation in future. However, you can withdraw cash or use the card at POS terminal in any currency anywhere in the world using the Platinum Multicurrency card. For transactions carried out in the card currency, you don't lose out on foreign exchange due to fluctuating market rates.
  • Available in Australian Dollar, AED (Dirhams), Canadian Dollar, Euro, Hongkong Dollar, Japanese Yen, Singapore Dollar, Sterling Pound, Swiss Franc, Swedish Krona, Thailand Baht, South African Rand, Oman Riyal, New Zealand Dollar, Danish Krone, Norwegian Krone, Saudi Riyal and US Dollar Currencies, all eighteen currencies on just one card

    You can transfer balance from one currency to another using Prepaid NetBanking facility available on Platinum Multicurrency ForexPlus card.

    Multicurrency ForexPlus card offers the card holder convenience of selecting his / her ATM PIN using Prepaid NetBanking facility.

    The card holders are advised to set the ATM PIN on receipt of the card as the bank does not provide any ATM PIN alongwith the card.
  • Additional security with temporary card blocking facility
    Multicurrency ForexPlus card comes with a temporary block/unblock feature. You can block the card using Prepaid NetBanking facility when the card is not in use and unblock it whenever you are travelling & need to use the card.
    In case of loss of card, you can hotlist the card using Prepaid NetBanking facility or through PhoneBanking service and activate the back-up card. When back-up card is activated the balances in the primary card automatically gets transferred to the back-up card.
  • Intelligence to utilize funds across currency wallets
    The card has inbuilt intelligence of pulling funds from other currency wallets in case transaction currency wallet does not have sufficient funds. In such a scenario, the system checks for the currency wallet with sufficient balance to process the transaction and equivalent amount is debited from corresponding currency wallet. Kindly note that if none of the wallets have sufficient balances to process the transaction then the transaction will be declined even if there are sufficient funds available collectively across all currency wallets.

    If you need to hotlist your card on acccount of loss or theft, we offer the facility of replacing your card or get emergency cash delivered to you while you are traveling overseas. You can call Visa's Global Customer Assistance Services to avail these services..

    Ecom is short-form that stands for of E-Commerce. Bank allows E-commerce facility on Multicurrency ForexPlus cards to make payments towards shopping done on online website / shopping portals.
  • Safer and more secure
    No more hassle of carrying bulk of cash or travellers' cheques, no more hassle of chasing money changers, paying commissions and tracking expenses. Your Card is protected against misuse at ATMs by means of PIN.

    In case your card gets lost or stolen, all you have to do is call HDFC Bank PhoneBanking immediately and report the loss of your card and get the card hoslisted. This facility is available 24 hours on all days. The card can also be hotlisted using our Prepaid NetBanking facility on www.hdfcbank.com
  • Enhanced Insurance Cover
    You are offered insurance cover with your Multicurrency ForexPlus card, i.e. Personal Accident Insurance (Death cover only) of Rs. 5 Lakhs, loss of checked baggage cover up to Rs.50,000 and passport reconstruction cover (actual cost of passport reconstruction only).
  • Reloadable at all HDFC Bank branches, even when the cardholder is abroad *
    Your Multicurrency Forexplus card is valid upto the last day of the month indicated on your card. Within this period you can use your card as often as you like. In case money loaded on the card gets exhausted, this card offers the facility to reload* even in the middle of your journey.
    *Reload requests can be made by any authorized person on your behalf. Incase the Card is issued by your corporate/employer, reload requests received through them will be acted upon by HDFC Bank.
  • Backup card facility available
    Multicurrency ForexPlus card also comes with an option of back up card. Back-up card can be used as a 'Replacement Card' in case you lose your primary card.
  • Ease of tracking
    The bank provides SMS (domestic as well as international mobile number) and email alert facility towards every activity on your Multicurrency ForexPlus card including withdrawal, purchase, wallet transfer, hotlisting etc. You also get online access to your card account, track your spends, check your balance. What’s more, we'll even send you a statement of accounts to your mailing address at the end of every month in which you have used the card for any transactions.

Cross Currency Charges:

  • For transactions where the transaction currency is different than the currency available on Multicurrency ForexPlus card, Bank will charge cross currency markup of 3% on such transactions.
  • Exchange rate used will be the VISA/Mastercard wholesale exchange rate prevailing at the time of the transaction.
  • For cross currency transactions involving wallet to wallet transfers within currencies available on Multicurrency ForexPlus card, customer will be charged with 2% cross currency charges.

Currency conversion service tax:
Currency Conversion tax will be as applicable as per prevailing tax guidelines

Charges towards GCAS facility:
The customer will be charged for availing GCAS facility of Visa as per the prevailing charges applicable.

  • The completed Multicurrency Application Form
  • Form A2
  • A photocopy of your Passport

  • Load and reload your card - Every time you load or re-load your card, you will get an email alert on your registered Email ID with tips on 'Dos & Don'ts'. If you want to re-load your card, you need to submit a Re-load Form, A2 Form and Cheque or Debit instruction.
  • Settle Disputes - If you have any disputes related to your card, you need to submit a dispute letter to the bank stating the nature of your issue.
  • View a User Guide - You will get a physical copy of the User Guide. You can check the User Guide to know more about your card.

  • You should not swipe your Multicurrency Card at terminals that show the transaction value in INR. Make sure you swipe your card in local foreign currency or card currency terminals.
  • You can also opt for Email Statement
  • Your card is not valid for Foreign Exchange transactions in India, Nepal & Bhutan
  • When you are prompted at ATM machines or Merchant Outlets you should select the Credit Card option
  • U.S. Banks are given the right by the local federal laws to levy a surcharge/fee from other bank customers for accessing their ATMs to withdraw money. Accordingly, many ATMs in the US do levy charges for withdrawing from their ATMs, over and above the charges levied by HDFC Bank. Similarly, there are certain ATMs in other countries that may levy a charge for transactions made by other bank customers.
  • You need to dip your card on terminals that accept cards while initiating a transaction. If the terminal is not enabled, then please swipe your card.
  • It is necessary for you to register before initiating online transactions.
