What is Pay Now service on HDFC Bank Credit Cards?
Pay Now is an extremely simple, convenient and secure way to pay your bills.
At www.hdfcbank.com
you can pay your electricity, telephone, cellular, insurance and other bills
using your credit card, make contributions to various charities and other
institutions and even remit your subscription monies to various magazines
and clubs. You can do all this from the comforts of your house or office,
over the Internet - any time any place.
All you need is a HDFC Bank Credit card to make these payments.

What are the benefits of Pay Now service?
Paying bills with Pay Now simplifies your life. Your payments are made quickly
and conveniently, and you no longer have to track payment due dates, write
multiple cheques or balance your chequebook. And depending on the HDFC Bank
Credit Card you use, you will be eligible to earn reward points or cashback
on your transactions.

How do I make payments through Pay Now?
All you have to do is the check the due amount on your bill, log onto www.hdfcbank.com
and select the biller you want to pay, provide details of your bill payment
and authorise payment from your HDFC Bank Credit Card.
It is as simple as that!
Depending on the terms of the biller, you can also use this service to make
part payments or interim payments to some billers (e.g. for your cell phone
etc). The payment page of the individual billers outlines the flexibility
offered by that specific biller for your payment, viz. in terms of payments
beyond due dates, part payments etc. You need to make your payments
in conformity with those terms.
As there is no registration process, every time you want to make a bill payment,
you need to enter the relevant biller and bills details.

Is Pay Now secure?
Pay Now employs the best-in-class security so that the transactions done through the Visa BillPay service are secure. Visa BillPay uses Secure Socket Layers (SSL) data encryption. Using SSL ensures that the information you exchange with Visa BillPay is never transmitted over the Internet unencrypted and cannot be viewed by unauthorised individuals. Visa BillPay uses SSL to protect users from unauthorised tampering or viewing of their account and billing information. This encryption is done using 128-bit RC4 encryption. In addition, your credit card information is processed over secure gateways that are certified by Visa.

Is there a fee?
There is a nominal fee of Rs 10 per transaction.

How can I pay bills using the Pay Now service?
You can pay bills using the Pay Right Away service in three simple steps:
1.You select the biller you wish to make a payment to

First select the location of the biller you wish to pay
(e.g. Mumbai, Delhi, etc.) |

Then select from the list of billers available in that
location |
2.You provide the bill details of your payment
Please have the physical bill in your hand while you are making the payment.
On selecting the biller, you will be prompted to provide your biller / bill
related information (viz. consumer number, cycle number, bill date, bill
amount for your electricity bill).
These details are required by the biller to be able to correctly identify
you and post your payment to the credit of your bill account. Once you have
entered these details you will be prompted to verify them and confirm the
same before proceeding to make the payment.
3.You provide your card details and authorise payments
After you have provided your bill details you then need to provide your
HDFC Bank Credit Card details. Typically you will need to submit your HDFC
Bank Credit Card Number, Card Expiry Date, CVV Number (the 3 digit number
on the back of your card) and the name as reflecting on your HDFC Bank Credit
Card.

Pay Now processes the payment instructions
The card details as submitted by you are processed over a secure
gateway of HDFC Bank and authenticated by us. These details will not
be shared with any third party. Upon successful processing of your instruction,
your card account would be charged and the payment made to your biller.

Confirmation on success of the transaction
You will get the confirmation immediately on transacting about
whether the transaction has been approved or not. |

Which billers can I pay using this service?
You can pay many national and local billers and service providers through
the HDFC Bank Credit Card's Pay Now.

Billers are constantly being added to the list, so check back often.

Which HDFC Bank Credit Cards can I use to
pay my bills?
You can use any of your HDFC Bank Credit Card. You can earn reward points, credit free period or cashback on HDFC Bank Credit Cards depending on the features of the card.

Can I pay bills after their due date?
The biller specific terms are clearly indicated on the biller page when you are providing your bill details. Please adhere to them strictly. Where billers do not entertain late payments, any payment made by you after due date is liable to be rejected by the biller with attendant penalties.

By when should I make my bill payments?
To ensure that your payments arrive before a due date and to avoid late payment charges, you need to make your payment at least 3 working days before the bill due date.

Can I pay someone else's bill?
Yes, you can pay someone else's bill through Pay Now.

What are the risks I should be aware of?
Invalid payments: It is your responsibility to ensure that biller, payment and credit card details provided by you to HDFC Bank are accurate and complete. The payment will be processed solely basis the payment details you enter and confirm. If the details entered by you are incorrect or not as per the terms specified by the biller, then even though your payments may be successfully processed at Pay Now the biller may reject them. HDFC Bank is not responsible for delays in processing of payments or rejections by your biller caused by your failure to provide us with accurate bill related information. You will be responsible for any additional fees and charges levied by either your biller or Biller in the event of a declined Visa Bill Pay payment. In the event of a declined payment, your bill will remain unpaid.

How can I get a copy of the Pay Now Terms
and Conditions?
You can print the Terms and Conditions page by clicking on the Print icon
on your browser's tool bar, or by selecting the Print function from your browser's
file menu.

How many billers can I select?
There is no limit to the number of billers you can select from the list of participating billers.

Can I pay multiple bills of the same biller?
Yes. You can pay as many bills as you have with any biller.

Do I have to pay the entire bill amount?
You need to make a payment either in full or in part depending upon whether
the biller provides you with that facility. The specific terms with respect
to each biller are clearly indicated on the biller page where you submit your
bill details. Please read them carefully and adhere to them strictly.

Can I make a payment to a biller who is not
on your biller list?
No. At this time you can only make payments to billers who are participating in the Pay Now service.

Is there a limit on the size of a payment
I can make?
Please ensure you have free / unutilised credit limit on your card to make the payment otherwise the transaction will not get authorised.

How are payments processed?
Your payments are processed immediately on your providing the credit card
details and clicking on the 'submit' button. Upon this submission, the service
will send your credit card payment for authorisation. A processing screen
is displayed and you cannot cancel the payment at this stage. You will normally
receive an approved or declined response from your financial institution within
15 - 25 seconds.
If your payment is successful, you will be informed that your payment has been accepted and be given a payment identification number.
If your payment is unsuccessful, the service will inform you why your financial institution has declined your payment.

How do I stop a payment after it has been
made?
HDFC bank has no way to stop a payment after it has been processed. You should contact your biller.

When will my payment account be debited for
my payment?
As soon as the payment is authorised your credit limit will be blocked for the amount. The debit can be viewed in your next statement.

What is the proof of my payment?
Your credit card statement will show all the debits to your account against
the biller name. Also you can save and print the reference number generated
on your payment confirmation.

How are my card numbers and other personal
information protected from being accessed over the Internet by someone?
Your security is of paramount importance to us. All card details entered by
you are transported in an encrypted format and is only accessed by the Bank
and not by any other third party. (SSL- Secure Sockets Layer)
