What is SmartPay and how does it work?
SmartPay is a customer friendly feature that allows you to automatically make all your utility bill payments through your HDFC Bank Credit Card.
You can use SmartPay to pay your electricity bills, telephone bills, mobile phone bills, water bills, gas bills and insurance premiums.
To avail the SmartPay facility you need to fill up the form and send it to us along with a self attested copy of your latest utility bill. On receiving these documents, our Cards Division will send you a confirmation once you are successfully registered for the SmartPay facility. Once SmartPay is activated, our Cards Division will make payments to the utility companies before the due date and debit the amount to your Credit Card. You will continue to receive your bills from the utility companies.
How do I benefit from SmartPay?
You benefit from SmartPay in many ways. You don’t need to wait in queues, get delayed payment charges or fear disconnection of utility services.
How much does the SmartPay facility cost?
Currently, for those who register between 1st Apr'12 and 30th Mar'13, there's no transaction or registration charges for life time. Hence, you can set Standing instruction for all your bills and make hassle free payments at no extra cost.
For others, there's a transaction charge of Rs.10/- per transaction but no registration charges.
What bills can I pay through Smartpay?
You can pay Insurance premiums, Electricity bills, Mobile bills, Gas bills and Telephone bills through Smartpay. We currently provide more than 140 billers as part of the service.
What are the documents I need to send HDFC Bank to register for SmartPay?
You need to send a duly filled application form and a copy of the utility bill duly signed by you /the card holder to register for SmartPay.
