Will I get a confirmation after registering?

As soon as you have successfully registered and your HDFC Bank Credit Card has been validated, you will receive an email confirmation. Then you can start adding billers to your account.

When should I make my payments, and can I pay bills after their due date?

It’s good practice to make your payments at least three working days before they’re due. This will ensure they arrive on time, and you avoid the hassle of late fees. Biller terms are outlined on the biller page when you validate the PayNow screen.

Is Register&Pay safe?

You can be sure that Register&Pay uses the best-in-class security. All transactions made with the Register&Pay service use Secure Socket Layers (SSL) data encryption. This means that the information you exchange with Regsiter&Pay is never transmitted over the Internet unencrypted, and cannot be viewed by unauthorized individuals. In addition to all this, your Credit Card information is processed over secure gateways that are certified by VISA and MasterCard.

I’ve paid my bill. When will my account be debited and when will the biller get my payment?

When your bill is paid, your account will be immediately debited online and the payment will be sent to the utility company by the next working day. The payment amount is credited to your utility account within three working days.

Are there any risks in using the Register&Pay facility?

It is your responsibility to ensure that all biller, payment and Credit Card details are accurate. If the details entered by you are incorrect, or not as per the terms specified by the biller, then even if your payments are successfully processed at Register&Pay the biller may reject them.

Can I stop a payment after it is made using Register&Pay?

HDFC bank cannot stop a payment after it has been processed. In this case you should contact your biller.

Is there a size limit for payments using Register&Pay?

There is no limit. Just make sure you have sufficient free or unutilized credit on your HDFC Bank Credit Card, otherwise your transaction will not be authorised.

Will I still receive physical bills after registering for Register&Pay?

You will still be sent your physical bills.

Is there a fee for using PayNow?

Each transaction includes a nominal fee of Rs. 10 (excluding service tax).

When can I start using Register&Pay?

Provided the biller details have been correctly submitted, all future bills raised within 1 week of your biller addition date will start being raised in your account. To make things really easy, you will be sent an SMS and email alert for every bill that appears in your Register&Pay account. This is why you need to include your mobile number and email address while registering.

You can choose as many as you like from the list provided. There is no restriction.

How are my Register&Pay payments processed?

Your payments are processed as soon as you enter your Credit Card details and click on the ‘Submit’ button. On submission, the service will send your Credit Card payment for authorization. A processing screen is displayed and you cannot cancel the payment at this stage.

You will normally receive an approved or declined response from your financial institution within 15 - 25 seconds.

If your payment is successful, you will be informed that your payment has been accepted. You will be given a payment identification number. If your payment is unsuccessful, the service will inform you why the financial institution has declined your payment.

What are the risks I should be aware of when using Register&Pay?

It is your responsibility to ensure that all billers, payments and Credit Card details are accurate. If the details entered by you are incorrect or not as per the terms specified by the biller, then even if your payments are successfully processed at Register&Pay the biller may reject them.

To use Register&Pay how do I create my registration login?

  • 1. Click on Login icon on the webpage and click on Register Now.
  • 2. Complete the Registration form (all mandatory information will have to be provided).
  • 3. On clicking the submit button you will be taken to a secure payment gateway webpage, where you will be asked to authenticate yourself by providing your Credit Card details.
  • 4. Your card limit will be blocked for Rs. 10 for authentication and subsequently released in 15 days time on the success of the above validation you will get a success message.
  • 5. You will get an immediate email confirmation of your registration.

I’ve registered for Register&Pay in my city, but can I make payments from another city?

Paying online makes things easy, even when you’re travelling or just need to organize your accounts from a different location. For example, if you are registered for MTNL at Mumbai and you are in Bangalore you can still arrange your payment with Register&Pay.

Yes, you can register and pay someone else’s bills with this service.
