'ECSS'- Educational Crisis Scholarship Support

An initiative of HDFC Bank
Education is the investment our generation makes in the future ~ Mitt Romney

HDFC Bank believes that the benefits of economic growth must flow to all sections of the society and that education is one of the main factors enhancing the overall economic and social development of a nation. With the objective of empowering individuals who are economically and socially disadvantaged, the Bank has initiated various projects in the field of education and livelihood training. Out of them, the Educational Crisis Scholarship Support (ECSS) programme has been envisaged to provide interim support to children who face a personal or financial exigency.

ABOUT ECSS
A financial hardship or crisis in the family sometimes has a direct impact on the education of the children, often resulting in their dropping out of school. ECSS has been conceptualised to provide assistance to students affected by such issues so that their families can deal with a difficult situation or crisis without any adverse effect on the children's education.

THE SCHOLARSHIP

ECSS aims to cover students of recognised private and government-aided schools between classes VI to XII and students pursuing under graduate/ post-graduate full-time/part-time degree/diploma/vocational training courses (recognized by UGC/AICTE), who, due to personal, familial, or financial constraints, are unable to continue with their education and are, hence, at risk of leaving school prematurely. The crisis-based scholarship will cover the annual school fee of the selected candidate up to a maximum amount of Rs. 10,000/- and college fee upto a maximum of Rs.25,000/-. The sanctioned amount will be sent directly to the school/college/university via demand draft/manager's cheque.
